Go through the veg section & see what else you can stuff. It's amazing what you discover :D like broccoli! And if you have teeny birds use broccolini.

This is my personal fav picture. Gives you a bit of humour as well being creative & healthy for your birds :D

Wow don't get me started on toys. I get so excited! Went into this great bird store here and walked out with over $75 of toys unintentionally!
I like to split my toys into groups, I think it's important to have at lease a couple of each as my boys get bored quickly! I tend to swap toys every few days to keep them happy.

Feeder toys: These are really important! These keep your bird occupied while feeding. So instead of chucking some food in an easy bowl they give them a challenge with a reward at the end. You can get all sorts from simple fruit kebabs, to drawers, to a chest which can only be opened by using keys (or by whacking it against the cage until it opens as my boys have worked out)

Hard toy: I tend to buy bullet proof plastic toys! These are great because they can't be destroyed! My boys particularily love their abacus toy. They enjoy sliding the pieces back and forth

Destructive toys: These usually only last a few days. I particularily like wooden toys for these as they are great for beak maintenance. You don't have to spend heaps of money either. I just grab bits of paper, crumple them into large balls and wedge them through the cage bars. It's great to get their energy out on these!

Outside cage toys: I like to have some toys on hand when my boys are out of their cage. Harry in particular loves to burn off all of his excitement on things like foot toys. I don't really use foot toys in the cage as they tend to get dropped to the bottom and pooped on. Paper is also great for outside of the cage but is very messy!

I really like a shop on ebay called dicky bird toys. It sells lots of toys but also toy parts such as chains, chain links etc which are really handy when it comes to improvising and making your own toys.
Another tip, I always save as much as I can from broken toys. I keep the chains, the links, if there are any wooden parts etc to recycle into new toys
